Please enjoy a yacht that one can indulge in knowing that their conspicuous consumption is at least accompanied by class. Inspired by the grand steam yachts of the 20’s an 30’s, such as J.P. Morgan’s Corsair IV and Hoace Dodge’s sublime Delphine , the nearly 300ft motor yacht Nero is the yachting version of a Singer 911: unmolested old-school style with modern running gear under the surface. The best of both worlds, you might say.

Psh, get a real boat.

It’s so small tho

48 metres is pretty lengthy.

Also, I don’t see a cabin.

There isn’t much of one. Racing boat first, fishing boat second.

I don’t want my yacht to race. Or fish. I want it to yacht.

Is that the
Bluenose
?
![]() 10/23/2015 at 18:24 |

That is a beautiful yacht.
![]() 10/23/2015 at 18:25 |

Bluenose II, actually, due to the fact that the Bluenose is currently stuck at the bottom of the sea.

I can’t argue with that. I can, however, continuously shout at the top of my lungs that you’re using your boat wrong.

Right, Bluenose II. I actually took a ride on that vessel more than 30 years ago on a trip through Eastern Canada.

Pffft, If I’m going to spend that kinda money on a yatch it damn well better fly

Because Maltese Falcon and Delphine were posted in the comments yesterday, and I didn’t want people to think I was just stealing their suggestions.

Oh my. Now that is sex on water.

If I’m buying a yacht, I want comfort and class.

To be honest If I were in the wealth class to choose, my boat would be like the LUNA or other polar capable yachts. Frankly, I think would choose something a little smaller than the LUNA but i would definitely want world traveling capability.
Something in this size class, for example

Ah yes, there’s something to be said for an adventure yacht.
![]() 10/23/2015 at 18:53 |

That’s how you build a yacht for the obscenely rich. That fat pig boat from yesterday doesn’t hold a candle to this.

That looks so weird, it’s a steamship superstructure on a sailing vessel’s hull.

All I could think of that other ship was
‘It costs a lot of money to look this cheap.”

Fact: No matter when in time this person would be born, there’s no way he was going to do anything with his life that did not involve banking. Just look at him.

“I will bank the shit out of you”

Why does it have those huge masts? Is it actually a very sneaky electronic warfare ship?

You posted these yesterday, but how can I possibly fault you for posting them again?

Always nice to see a Union Flag canton on an ensign.
What nation does this ensign belong to?
EDIT:- Never mind I see it. George Town, Cayman Islands.

Yeah, but those don’t really need to be on GIANT MASTS like that.
Unless you’re spyin’ on the Rooskies.

It’s purely to add to the roaring 20’s feel. It doesn’t need a smoke stack either.

I suppose, but it should pick one or the other: Sail or Steam. Having both just makes the design seem too busy. That’s just my opinion, though.

They aren’t masts. Back in the day they held up cables and the crow’s nest, among other things.

Hmm. I can’t say it looks familiar at all, but that era is not one I know much of anything about, so I’ll take your word for it.

Why not Duesenberg?
